Prior to starting ITEEx, Mr. Waas was executive vice president of ValCom. ValCom is a $135 million systems integrator. He was responsible for operations and marketing.
He started his career at Grumman Data Systems Corporation and held various management positions in strategic planning, finance and service management.
Mr. Waas was Senior Vice President of Service and Support at Vanstar Corporation, a $2.5 billion dollar system integrator. At Vanstar, Mr. Waas headed the $250 million service organization. He had responsibility for field service, help desk and logistics. He was instrumental in the growth of the organization from $15 million in 1990 to over $250 million in 1997.
Mr. Waas was Vice President of Value Added Services at Dell Computer Corporation. He was responsible for a $750 million dollar division of Dell, responsible for the sale and delivery of software, peripherals and system integration services.
Mr. Waas is currently on the board of Project Leadership Associates.
He is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University and a member of the Program Board for Northwestern University’s MSCIS program.
He is also active in the industry. He was a co-founder of the Service Section of CompTIA and was a member of the Board and Chairmen of the association from 1995-1997. His most recent term on the Board expired in 2001. He served on the Board for the Association for Service Management, International from 1997 –2000 and is still active in the Education Council as co-chair.
Mr. Waas hold a BBA in accounting and an MBA in finance from Hofstra University.
